The four finalists were announced yesterday, one day after the 2010 bowl games were set. College football is finishing up their season, and Cam Newton, LaMichael James, Kellen Moore and Andrew Luck have a chance to be recognized as the best player this season and they are the last Heisman hopefuls.
I have to be honest and say that the only one of the four I have seen play a complete game is Moore, but this group certainly has a lot of stories to go around. Newton has been at the center of controversy, which luckily just finished up, the impact of which is yet to be seen. James comes from one of the top teams in the country, looking to bring home a championship. Moore’s invincible status was destroyed against Nevada in one of 2010′s most exciting games, and Luck is the young stud who has been compared to Elway. (Hopefully when he leaves he can enter the NFL without an unbelievable ego)
Whoever brings home the trophy will be on one of the greatest high’s of their life, and then will need to prove themselves in the NFL, if they make it. Will they turn out to be a Barry Sanders and light up on the big stage? A Troy Smith bouncing around the NFL trying to make a name? Or a Matt Leinart and completely bust? Only time will tell…
What do you think about the finalists? Who should win?

Cam all the way. He’s had an unbelievable year. No real precedent for a player like him in the NFL, so unclear what his future is after college.
But as far as college standards go, he’s a man among boys.
I only hope the niners get a shot to pick Luck as he might be just the ticket to get the team going as Mr Alex is rumored to start this Sunday.
Luck as well as Harbaugh has returned Stanford to a National Power!
